What set Craig and his crew apart was their desire to build the deck of our dreams and not some standard deck form of their design. From the outset we requested alternative design specifications that were different than their usual way of making decks (beams 6x6”, 2x6” boards instead of deck planking. encasing posts with cement so no wood was in contact with dirt ) which they adapted to easily and with great enthusiasm. Throughout the project we altered plans and shifted design which they accommodated most readily. We particularly enjoyed the work ethic and personality of our crew (Rafa, Carlos, Junior, Yoel). Craig helped us design a way to have our old deck on the second floor flow into the new deck surrounding the pool. The quality and professionalism from the crew was outstanding. Craig from Decks Unlimited has been building decks for decades. He is very precise and accurate about exactly what we want. His team worked hard and had the deck done quickly (less time than estimated) and beautifully. Everything was done to the agreed specifications and estimate. While starting our deck, a problem with our house chimney/siding was discovered. They made us aware of a problem that had clearly been there for years. We quickly got someone to repair it, and Craig and his team graciously flexed with this new timeline and finished the work the next week after the repair work had been done. The deck is perfect and we look forward to many years enjoyment.

Marvel and team were terrific; from the quote, to tear out of my old deck, to building the new deck. Unlike the other three quotes I received, Marvel's quote gave me detail and not just a price. And, he quoted on several different products which was extra work. Besides the quality of the craftsmanship, the clean-up was impeccable. No construction debris was left....and no lunch/snack trash ie., cans, bottles, chip bags. cigarette butts were left behind. (If there were any to leave behind!) I never imagined that I would have a new deck in February! They worked in the cold and had to navigate saturated wet ground due to the ice and rain. All set to landscape in the Spring! If you are stopping on Deck’s Unlimited’s web site to look for a deck contractor in Louisville, LOOK NO FURTHER. I worked with Craig Small and he was the most honest, open, dependable contractor I have ever worked with. Craig responded to text messages and phone calls to a fault. We water proofed our deck. After it was installed, it was leaking between the baseboard and the house, my wife filmed it and I showed it to Craig via text. His response was “This is unacceptable, we will fix it.” A few days later, they had taken up the boards, installed flashing, and fixed the issue. I’m installing a pool and I wish that Craig installed pools. I would use him for every contracting job I needed if he did more than just deck. In fact, I am eventually going to finish the ceiling of my walk out basement. Instead of using the pool contractors deck guy, I’m going to have Craig come out and finish. Craig’s team that installed my deck were polite, professional, and true craftsmen. They tore out my old deck, hand carried it all out of my yard, and installed a beautiful deck that will hopefully last a life time. In today’s world, it is hard to find a trust worthy contractor. Like I stated before, Craig is an honest person who’s word means something. I’d recommend him a million times over and would use him and his team again if my deck ever needed work (it shouldn’t).

We couldn't be happier with our new deck. We had an old wooden deck off of the 2nd floor (maybe 12 feet off the ground) that needed replacing. Craig had his guys completely rip out the old deck and replace with a new trex deck in roughly a week start to finish. We had another estimate from a large, relatively local deck builder and this estimate was 10-15% less. Deck looks fantastic, Marvel and his guys were there dawn to dusk until it was done. I highly recommend Decks Unlimited. I am very impressed with our new deck. They got to it quicker than they said they could and tore down my old deck and rebuilt very quickly. I am impressed with the craftsmanship shown in the job. They even provided the extra customer service touch of putting my grill up on my new deck, remembering that I previously needed assistance getting it down. This was all done at a fair price as well. I had received other bids and am very happy with choice of using this company.

We had our deck replaced two weeks ago. Craig Small met with us in November and designed the project . We agreed and his crew started work in mid December. Our goal was to have the project completed before Christmas, and it was. Our deck is made of treated wood and we have a ramp as well as two stairways. The crew are good carpenters and they worked efficiently and were very courteous. Each night they moved their tools aside so that we had free access to our driveway and garage. The project was completed in five days. We are very satisfied with our new deck and would recommend Decks Unlimited for any deck project that you might have.
